Adventure itinerary

Day 1 – Welcome to the Amazon

From the plane you'll begin to appreciate the immense jungle — stretches and stretches of green magic. You'll be welcomed at the airport in the city of Leticia (ideally arriving around midday at the latest). Then we'll take a vehicle to our first destination, the Nature Reserve, where a typical regional lunch will await us. Afterwards, we'll take a walk through the beautiful jungle until we reach a 35-meter-tall tree, which we'll climb with manual support to enjoy the jungle canopy (the roof of the rainforest): a view unlike any other in the world, where we can enjoy 3 more platforms crossing by zipline.

After this activity, we'll settle into the treehouse cabins, and after a short rest one of our guides will take us on a night walk full of sounds, where we can discover and be amazed by the lively nightlife of the jungle.

We'll finish with a typical dinner.

Meals included: Lunch and dinner

Day 2 – Expedition and ancestral cultures

After breakfast, we'll set out on an expedition deep into the jungle of approximately two hours, from the reserve to a JOFO ANANEKO or MALOCA (traditional indigenous main house) of the Yukuna - Huitoto ethnic group. The Maloca is located in the middle of the jungle and is an ideal space to learn about this community's culture and traditions. Along the way, our guide will show and teach us the various species of trees and palms endemic to the Amazon, as well as ancestral plants and their traditional uses. We'll learn to make typical utensils with materials from the jungle. On this walk we'll have the chance to spot different species of Amazonian wildlife.

After arriving at the maloca, we'll have an afternoon to share and learn about indigenous traditions, enjoy a delicious traditional lunch and gain deeper insight into their customs and knowledge. There we'll tour the chagra, harvest coca leaf to prepare mambe, and share a talking circle with our guide and/or indigenous elder.

Upon our return, we'll have dinner and then get ready to sleep and recharge for the next leg of our route toward the Amazon River.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 3 – Amazon River & flooded forest

Traveling along the Amazon River, we'll visit a beautiful Nature Reserve located on the Peruvian riverside. We'll enjoy our stay in this place, where we can observe many birds, monkeys and other wild animals, as well as the lotus flower (Victoria regia), take a lovely walk through beautiful landscapes spotting birds, different species and the incredible ceibas, better known as "THE TREE OF LIFE"; delight in typical regional dishes and do different activities such as canoeing and kayaking.

At night we'll take a mystical silent ride on the lake, in a motorless canoe, to connect with and experience the nocturnal rainforest

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 4 – Pink dolphins & Puerto Nariño

After breakfast, we'll head out to board our boat (depending on the water level we'll leave on a 1.5h walk or by boat) and then sail in a private boat along the Amazon River to visit the Maikuchiga Foundation, a sanctuary for primates that have been victims of wildlife trafficking. We'll then continue our journey along the Amazon River with possible sightings of pink dolphins —toninas— to the town of Puerto Nariño. There we'll take a tour of the town, and after settling in and having lunch, we'll sail toward El Correo and Tarapoto lakes (depending on the water level) to enjoy all the beauty of this place, spot fauna and flora, and learn about this flooded-forest ecosystem.

We'll return for dinner and rest.

Meals included: Breakfast, lunch and dinner

Day 5 – Return

After breakfast, we'll take a boat along the Amazon River to the town of Leticia and, depending on the flight time, we'll have some time to explore the town, its market, or enjoy a delicious ice cream with typical regional fruits to bring this magical experience to a close.

Meals included: Breakfast
